Writing Your Own Vows

I absolutely LOVE when couples write their own vows! It is so meaningful when a couple takes the time individually to think about why they love their fiancee’ and what they want to promise to each other. There are quite a few links at the bottom of this page that will help you along the way of writing your own vows…

You can choose to/not to hear the others written vows before the ceremony. If you choose to wait, I would highly recommend additional tissues! When my husband Adam read his vows to me …we were both crying…I mean really crying! So, you have been warned of the emotional risk!!! LOL!  However, I will say that our Wedding was a very emotional & touching wedding because of those little touches. The vows were emotional, the prayers were emotional, and the letter my dad read to us before he gave me away brought the house down!!!

{Side-note: There is no reason why you can’t say the traditional marriage vows AND personal vows you have written to each other! Remember to keep your vows simple, short, and to the point! That way they can really pack a punch!!!!)

So take the opportunity to personalize your wedding/wedding vows. It will only make it all the more special. The special touches are important throughout the day…. just don’t forget about adding those personal touches to your ceremony as well. =)
