b4 ur Session

..Things to KNOW..

Your Senior pictures define who you are at this crossroad in your life ! This is your opportunity to express your style and personality!

I love the upbeat and free-spirited style of teens today. We love our Evoke Senior Models to feel CONFIDENT in who they are as an individual. Even if we need to go to extra lengths, we WILL pull out that inner rock star!

Listed below are some guidelines to putting together your wardrobe for your photo shoot. We suggest preparing 2-3 outfits, along with any accessories or props that you might bring.

Speaking of accessories… jewelry, scarves, hats, heels, belts, etc are wonderful compliments to any outfit. PERSONALIZE your look! Make sure to put coordinating accessories in a small ziploc bag with the matching outfit to make them more accessible during your session

Taking the time to put together a variety of outfits prior to your sessions will really make things go smoothly and will allow us more creativity during the shoot. All clothing must be pressed and on hangers. If the clothes are in a bag, they will not be worn as this adds more editing work for the photographer to make your portraits look the best…. K?

When putting together your 2-3 outfits, try to make sure at least one of them is an outfit that your mom loves (even if you don’t!) Everything else can be your style, your flair… just don’t forget what your mom loves!

So. I know you will get some mad inspiration here – and if you see anything online or in a magazine that inspires you…Bring it! While you are at it, bring your favorite playlist and we will stick it in the portable iPod player we bring.

Lets party and ROCK YOUR SESSION OUT!

Please sweetie! Don’t try a new hairstyle the day before your session! We do not want you to look back later and wonder why you changed your hairstyle the day before your senior portraits were taken! Like I told the guys, you gotta trust me on this one ;)

MAKEUP

When applying your makeup for your session, make sure to use a little more foundation then you would normally use. Make sure that this is a fresh application before your session. Bring your case with powder and lip-gloss for touch ups. When applying mascara be careful to avoid clumps.

If you do not normally wear make up, but want to wear a little for your portraits, please apply foundation, mascara, and lip-gloss. Avoid anything with too much *sparkle* as this can catch as little white flecks through the lens.

Unfortunately, we are not makeup artists and there is only so much we can do in photoshop. So please make wise decisions regarding your makeup (maybe get a little appointment with Sephora) as we cannot do re-shoots to accommodate poor product choices…

Lips_ Glossy, Shiny, Color! Reds, berries and browns are best, but stay away from frosty or sparkles. (Bring gloss!)

Face_Use both SPF-free moisturizer and foundation to prevent reflection and to enhance your skin’s natural glow. Use a translucent powder to set.

Eyes_Well groomed eyebrows are a must, but give yourself at least 24 hours between waxing and your session. Use black or brown waterproof mascara if you choose to wear any. Clear mascara is a good option if you want to go for a real natural look. Dark brown eyeliner is a good alternative to a heavy black eyeliner, and will also compliment all shimmery eyeshadows.

Cheeks_If you want a little extra color for your cheeks, try applying a little to the apples of your cheekbones using a petal pink shade.

As for clothing – when in doubt, BRING IT! Something conservative, fun things, bright things, crazy things. Skirts, hats, Prom dresses, Jewelry, etc. Grab some ideas from TeenVogue or Anthropologie and LETS PLAY! =)

Make sure you check out our Senior Inspiration posts! Updates on styles and more (under Categories in the Menu!)

P.S. A tank top under your outfits makes for easy on-location changing!

Above all…. LETS HAVE FUN!

this will be a ONCE in a LIFETIME experience and we are going to ROCK it!!!
