Jeremy & Amanda’s Wedding – New Town @ St. Charles

Lovely, soft details. Shabby chic with splashes of modern class.

You will probably remember Jeremy & Amanda from their Engagement Session. These two know how to throw an event. Every little detail was selected with love. What a beautiful day and a lovely time of celebration their wedding was!

New Town at St. Charles is a world unto itself… and you would think that it was designed especially for this lovely pair! The elegance of yesteryear and the convenience of today made this the perfect venue for Mr. and Mrs. Limones.

With touches of flair from the marvelous ladies over at Proposing Dreams, and flowery details by Lucky You… the stage was set for this grand affair!

I hope you enjoy some glimpses from Jeremy & Amanda’s day! Congratulations to a sweet and creative couple!

The following sequence of images are exactly why I love when a bride and groom choose to do a First Look session. What beautiful tender moments Jeremy & Amanda had together before the ceremony! Such a relaxed bride!

The beautiful necklace wrapped around Amanda’s bouquet is a family heirloom… such a great way to incorporate it into the details!

I couldn’t get enough of the adorable little ring-bearer in his mini-me suit and “official ring bearer” pin!

I thought it was so special that Jeremy’s father (a minister) was able to officiate the wedding. Jeremy’s sister did a beautiful reading for the couple, and his grandfather also played a part in the sweet ceremony.

Instead of a traditional candle or sand ceremony, Jeremy & Amanda had a Cord of Three Strandsceremony – also called “Gods Knot”. This was the first time I had heard of this and I am in love with this new tradition! Since this wedding, I have shared this with several brides who have chosen to go this route. This touching idea is inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12 which says “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken”. The Gold Strand represents God, the Purple Strand represents the Groom, and the White Strand represents the Bride. Beautiful, isn’t it?!

Some other fun details:

Personalized jars of raw honey for their guests to take home. (useful and adorable!)

The centerpieces were all different styles of vintage and antique pitchers in the shades of J & A’s wedding colors

The father of the bride gave a very sweet and heartfelt speech at the reception

The bride changed into a sweet getaway dress… this is something I wish I would have done! All those buttons can be frustrating to try to undo by yourself! Have your bridesmaids help you with the buttons and send your gown with them to the cleaners or to take home. It’s a win-win!

One of the sweetest ceremony’s, and one of my favorite couples!

Jeremy & Amanda, congratulations to you both! (Oh, and Adam said to tell you that he is ready for another double-date! We still haven’t been to Pi and would love to go with you guys! :)

A big thank you to the ladies over at Proposing Dreams Weddings! (awesome St. Louis Wedding and Event planners!)

Writing your own vows | Evoke Images

I absolutely LOVE when couples write their own vows! It is so meaningful when a couple takes the time individually to think about why they love their fiancee’ and what they want to promise to each other.

There are quite a few links at the bottom of this page that will help you along the way of writing your own vows…

You can choose to/not to hear the others written vows before the ceremony. If you choose to wait, I would highly recommend additional tissues! When my husband Adam read his vows to me …we were both crying…I mean reallycrying! So, you have been warned of the emotional risk!!! LOL!  However, I will say that our Wedding was a very emotional & touching wedding because of those little touches. The vows were emotional, the prayers were emotional, and the letter my dad read to us before he gave me away brought the house down!!!

{Side-note: There is no reason why you can’t say the traditional marriage vows AND personal vows you have written to each other! Remember to keep your vows simple, short, and to the point! That way they can really pack a punch!!!!)

So take the opportunity to personalize your wedding/wedding vows. It will only make it all the more special. The special touches are important throughout the day…. just don’t forget about adding those personal touches to your ceremony as well. =)

Flashdance – visual backrounds

I stumbled upon this website by accident – and I’m so glad I did!

This is an absolutely FABULOUS idea from The Flash Dance for your wedding dance or cocktail hour. I mean… how perfect?!  And such a great way to get the energy up and your guests moving!

If it were me, I would have this going in addition to my dj/band. However, if you are providing your own iPod mix for the reception… I could see this as being the perfect way to take a playlist to the next level.  Extremely reasonable for a 1+ hour looping flick.  Even an outdoor wedding could feature something like this with those handy-dandy inflatable screens (several places here in St. Louis rent screens of all sizes).

Will one of my brides please, please, PLEASE do this? For me??  I promise not to dance too much at your reception…   ;-)

xoxo, Maranda
