Today I am sharing an engagement session from this past autumn, and OH! Isn’t this morning light beautiful??? We were really lucky to get one of the pretty autumn days – and I love that we went out in the morning. They call it the Golden Hour for a reason! The first 2 hours after sunrise / 2 hours before sunset give the most beautiful rays of light.F’real. I’d go as far to say that there’s a Golden-Quarter-Hour. I’m not even kidding. If you are lucky enough to get it, there is occasionally this ethereal 10-15 minutes of honey-sweet light, and baby… it’s a little slice of magic. I don’t get it at every session, but if I could buy it and unveil it for each of my clients, I would! We had a little-slice-of-magic-ethereal-golden-quarter-hour for Dave & Tracey’s photo shoot!
Thanks to my awesome second shooter sister Mariah for helping out with this sesh! Yes, I called it a sesh…because I can :)

This session took place right as we were going into the World Series and since they are such avid fans… they really wanted to work the Cards in there somewhere. Enter… the Cardinals blanket. Oh yeah.

One of the things I love about Micki? She knew she wanted me to photograph her wedding…. BEFORE she knew who she was going to marry!
That makes me feel…. incredibly, awesomely honored. F’real.
So Micki emailed me that she had found “the one” and told me they were coming to St. Louis for an engagement session! No pressure! lol Seriously, these are two cool cats. Arthur and Micki were up for anything! After a boudoir session with Micki at a swank hotel downtown, we met up with Arthur and hit the streets of St. Louis.
Micki is from Rhode Island, and Arthur is from California. Tell me…. can you get any further apart? So their relationship, although they had known each other before, has been very long-distance in nature. What better way to commemorate that than taking pictures at a train station?
The Museum of Transportation is simply wonderful. The history and romance of the trains really got our attention and went so perfectly with the look we were going for.
