Will you be the photographer at my shoot? Who else will be present?
Yes, unless we discuss otherwise, I will always be the primary photographer present at your shoot. In some rare cases, with your permission, a second female photographer may be present to assist with lighting or to shoot from other perspectives. This will only be done with your permission. In these cases, the other photographer’s images will be treated just like my images and will be subject to the same privacy regulations.
How much should I expect to spend on my session?
You can find more information about package options on the Pricing page. In addition to your session fee, you may also wish to book a hotel suite for your shoot, hire a hair or makeup artist, buy lingerie or other accessories, or purchase additional prints and products, all of which will increase the overall cost for your session. Clients can spend as little as $325 or as much as $3000 on all of these items combined, with the average client spending around $500-1300 on their session.
Will I receive the digital files from my session? Will these images be retouched?
A disc with a digital copy of each image you have purchased or included in your album will be given you, as well as a photographic release. Regardless of your package choice, all of your images will be largely retouched, including skin smoothing, and blemish removal. I will also include a few “artistic edits” of some of my personal favorites from your session.
Is there any retouching that is not included?
Tattoo removal and tan lines are extremely time-consuming and thus require an additional fee of $50 per hour. I recommend hiring a makeup artist skilled in skin coverups to help minimize these problems, if necessary.
Can I bring a friend to my shoot for moral support?
Sure! Although I don’t recommend bringing your mom or your best guy friend along, a sister or close friend can be a great personal assistant to check your hair and makeup, assist you with outfit selection, and be your cheering section.
What if my friend wants to do a session, too? Can we do our sessions together?
We have several Hotel Marathons throughout the year, and are also available for Private Parties. If you’re feeling intimidated or nervous about your boudoir session, this is a great way to share the experience and help each other stay positive and excited about your images.
Where should my session be, and what should I bring?
You can find more information about my favorite locations here and information on how to prepare for your session on this page. If you want something more unusual or unique for your session, let me know and I’ll help you create the perfect concept for your shoot.
Will I have a say in how you use my images on your website?
The short answer is – Absolutely! I will never use your images without your permission. For more information on our Privacy Policy, please see the Privacy section below.
How soon after my session will I receive my proofs and products?
You will receive your password-protected online gallery approximately 4-6 weeks after your session. Products such as albums and folios can take 4-6 weeks to arrive. If your session is intended to be a gift for a special occasion, I recommend scheduling it no later than two months before the date that you need your products in hand.
How do I book a shoot with you?
First, use our contact form to send us your information and I’ll send you a detailed pricing guide and package options. Once you are ready to book, I will send you a private link to the online booking system. All individual packages must be paid in full before your session begins; a boudoir session at one of our marathons requires a $175 deposit, with the balance due on the day of the event. If you are interested being a hostess for a Peek-a-Boudoir party, the minimum deposit is $500. Evoke Images currently accepts cash & personal checks.
What about Privacy?
We’ve all seen the news stories – teachers who are fired from their jobs, beauty queens who lose their crowns, and young celebrities who are lambasted in the media – all because a few steamy images of them somehow found their way onto the internet without their permission. I understand that the fear that images might end up in the wrong hands can be enough to keep someone from doing a session that they might otherwise enjoy, so privacy is an extremely important aspect of how I conduct my business. I’ve set up a few safeguards to ensure that your privacy will be protected at all times, and you will have complete control over which images (if any) are released and where they appear.
First of all, other than e-mail correspondence between you and me, your full name will never be associated with your photos without your consent. If you choose to proof your photos online, you will be given the choice of using your real name, your initials, or a fake name that will be used with your photo proofing gallery. Furthermore, all of my products are designed to be discreet and appear as normal home decor, so that you can safely store your boxes, folios, and albums without fear that your parents, children, or friends will be suspicious when they see them.
All images that you see on this website are used with permission. After your session, we will discuss which images you grant me permission to use, and how and where I will use them. I will never use an image from your session without your consent. You always have the right to keep all images private, however clients that allow me full usage rights to their images will receive discounts or product upgrades as a thank you for their bravery!
If you have any questions about my privacy safeguards, don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your situation!
